ECH Visiting Hours Expanded

Elizabethtown, NY -- The University of Vermont Heath Network - Elizabethtown Community Hospital has expanded visiting hours for hospitalized patients. Up to two visitors at a time are now permitted from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm.

The updated visitor policy includes the following conditions to maintain a safe environment of care for patients and staff:

  • Hospitalized patients are allowed visitation each day between the hours 11:00 am and 6:30 pm.
  • Patients may have two visitors at a time. In semi private rooms, only two visitors are permitted per room at one time.
  • Visitors are required to wear a procedure mask. Cloth masks are no longer permitted.
  • Visitors with COVID-like symptoms or a fever of 100.0, will not be permitted to enter our facilities.
  • Visitors must follow current New York State guidelines for quarantine & isolation. Those who meet criteria for quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter our facilities.  Anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID in the past 10 days (and is not seeking care) will not be permitted in our facility.
  • Visitors are asked to limit time in common areas and maintain social distancing.
  • Visitors who do not follow these requirements will be kindly asked to leave due to the safety of your loved one, other patients and staff.

Special considerations for pediatric patients, end of life care patients, and patients with an intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disability are included in the updated visitor policy. Up to two support persons, deemed essential to the patient’s care, will be allowed to accompany patients in the emergency department and in outpatient specialty clinics. Support persons must adhere to the guidelines above.
