Elizabethtown, NY – The University of Vermont Health Network - Elizabethtown Community Hospital recently expanded specialty clinics at its Ticonderoga campus. Providers from the UVM Health Network specializing in women’s health and dermatology are now offering monthly outpatient services, and are accepting new patients.

“We are excited to be able to provide personalized specialty care right here in Ticonderoga,” said Matt Nolan, interim president at Elizabethtown Community Hospital. “We have been working with our partners across the UVM Health Network to provide a range of services at the recently remodeled campus to ensure we meet the health care needs of the greater Ticonderoga community. With the addition of women’s health and dermatology to our specialty clinics, patients can get their routine exams and more in one convenient location.”

The women’s health clinic, launched in May, will be led by Molly Brown, women’s health nurse practitioner from Porter Medical Center. Molly has experience in a variety of women’s health care settings and is passionate about educating women about their bodies and reproductive health. In addition to annual exams, Molly will offer care for a range of issues including preconception and contraception counseling, menopause management, and breast cancer screenings.

“We have been eager to provide women’s health care in Ticonderoga for some time and, thanks to our partnership through the UVM Health Network, we are able to make it happen. Eliminating the need to travel can help ensure patients not only get the general women’s health care they need, but also get potentially life-saving screenings for cervical and breast cancer,” said Ms. Brown.

Katelyn Shea, MD, and Morgen Rogers, PA-C, from the UVM Medical Center will provide monthly dermatology clinics at the Ticonderoga campus. According to Dr. Shea, a board-certified dermatologist, patients will now have convenient access to care for conditions such as acne, malignant melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, and psoriasis. “Patients won’t have to go a long way for diagnosis and treatment of a variety of skin, hair, and nail issues; and can access highly specialized dermatological care through the UVM Health Network,” said Dr. Shea.

The specialty physician services on the Ticonderoga campus include cardiology, colorectal screening, dermatology, echocardiograms, orthopedics, and women’s health. In addition to the outpatient specialty clinics, patients have access to primary and emergency medicine, imaging, laboratory, and physical, speech, and occupational therapy services -- all in one convenient location.

In 2019, Elizabethtown Community Hospital completed a $9.1 million update of the Ticonderoga campus, transforming the former Moses Ludington Hospital into a state-of-the-art 24-hour emergency department and outpatient center.
