Tips to be a successful applicant

Complete the application and attach all requested and/or required supporting materials

Study for the entrance exam- The Entrance exam is to validate your knowledge at the EMT level. There are a few questions regarding ALS assessment and treatment that may be asked, but are not considered for the overall score.  You must achieve a score of 70% in order to move on.  We have come up with a BLS Study guide to help you be successful.

Study for the skills exam- We will be accessing your overall management of a patient at the EMT level.  It includes managing you crew and the patient.  You must react to this patient scenario based assessment.  We have come up with a study guide/format we call, “What do I see”.  Follow this format and you can’t go wrong.

Prepare for an interview- Prepare to answer and ask questions- Tips for a good interview

Get your finances in order- Apply for scholarships and loans.  Discuss with your EMS agency about support.
