Women’s Health Care Expands at Elizabethtown Community Hospital’s Ticonderoga Campus

Women’s Health Care at The University of Vermont Health Network – Elizabethtown Community Hospital welcomes to its Ticonderoga Campus Mariah North, MD, and Katherine Wagner, MD, both board certified OB/GYNs.  Drs. North and Wagner join Molly Brown, WHNP in providing Women’s Health Care to women of all ages.

Bob Ortmyer, President of Elizabethtown Community Hospital, stated “As part of the UVM Health Network, we are able to continue to grow our health care services in response to the community’s needs. Unlike many larger hospitals, our hospital campuses provide a more personal approach, a quiet setting and shorter wait times yet with the same state-of-the-art technology and high-quality specialty care.”

According to Dr. North, getting to know and partner with patients is what she enjoys most. “I like listening to my patients’ stories and learning their personal and medical history. It’s how we establish a trusting relationship. Once I have a better sense of a patient and their goals, my role is to educate, provide options and create a path for us to get there together,” said Dr. North.

A graduate of University of New Mexico Medical School, where she also completed a residency in OB/GYN, Dr. North treats women of all ages, addressing their changing needs. Areas of expertise include pregnancy prevention options and infertility evaluation, treatments for menstrual problems, surgical options for bleeding, sterilization and other gynecologic abnormalities, hormonal issues and menopause management and health screenings. She also sees obstetric patients at UVM Health Network affiliate, Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, VT.

Dr. Wagner, who “strives to provide the most up-to-date care with compassion and personal attention,” specializes in well-woman care and a full range of gynecologic care in Ticonderoga as well providing obstetrical care to her patients at Porter Medical Center.

Dr. Wagner received her medical degree from The University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, VT where she also completed her residency and internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
