Elizabethtown Community Hospital & Elderwood at Ticonderoga Host Free Community Health Fair
Ticonderoga, N.Y. (October 8, 2018) – The University of Health Network – Elizabethtown Community Hospital and Elderwood at Ticonderoga will host a Community Health Fair on Wednesday, October 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Crown Terrace Dining Room within the nursing home on the Ticonderoga Campus, formerly Moses Ludington Hospital, at 1019 Wicker Street, Ticonderoga.
This free event is open to the public and includes vendors, demonstrations, refreshments and health assessments including blood pressure checks, LDL cholesterol and A1C (glucose) screenings. Mary White-Ferris, Certified Diabetes Educator, will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information to those who are both recently-diagnosed or to those who have been looking for new ideas about how to manage their diabetes.
Community organizations taking part in the community health fair include Adirondack Health Institute, Alzheimer's Disease Caregiver Support Initiative, American Red Cross, Behavioral Health Services North, Cancer Service Program of Northeastern NY, CVTEC, Essex County Mental Health, Essex County Office for the Aging, Essex County Public Health, Fidelis, HCR Home Care - North Country Region, High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care, Keene Valley Neighborhood House, Residents at Otter Creek, Mental Health Association in Essex County, Southern Adirondack Independent Living Center, St. Joseph’s Outpatient Clinic, The Garrison Gym, Substance Abuse Prevention Team, TiNADA, UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions, Elderwood at Ticonderoga, Elderwood Village at Ticonderoga, and the UVMHM-Elizabethtown Community Hospital Radiology, Laboratory, Nursing, Rehabilitation and Specialty Clinic Departments.
