Community Friendship Volunteer Program
What is the Community Friendship Volunteer Program?
Our Community Friendship Volunteer Program aims to relieve social isolation and benefit the health and wellbeing of seniors in our community. The program, launched in partnership with Mercy Care for the Adirondacks, pairs volunteers with older adults in need of non-clinical assistance and complements the age-friendly care we provide at the hospital.
Volunteers provide at-home visits and support with day-to-day activities like gardening, shopping, and errands. In as little as one to four hours a month, volunteers can have a big impact on the health and wellbeing of seniors in our community.
What do Community Friendship Volunteers do?
Community Friendship Volunteers share their time and companionship with older adults in need.
