Critical Access Hospital

ECH is the only federally designated critical access hospital (CAH) north of Albany and east of Lake Ontario. In that capacity, ECH serves as a rural acute care manager, performing lifesaving services and coordinating the transfer of patients in need of additional and immediate care to other hospitals with which it has agreements in place.

High-quality Care Close to Home

Due to the remote nature of the region, the hospital and its specialty clinics allow residents to obtain high-quality care close to home. ECH employees work together to achieve the highest standard of care to patients when and where it is needed. We are not just caregivers and staff; we are your friends and neighbors.

Expanding Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in Essex County, NY

The increasing need for space to accommodate a growing patient base and additional providers, therapists and staff was recognized by New York State with a $5.4 million grant from the State’s Health Care Facility Transformation Program. This funding will help upgrade the space for our Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in Elizabethtown.

As part of this process, ECH has completed a Health Equity Impact Assessment as part of Certificate of Need (CON).
